Chiropractic

What is Chiropractic?

Chiropractic care can help to manage conditions of the spine and musculoskeletal system. Chiropractors aim to restore mobility, reduce pain and muscle tightness.

Most clients come in at first because they are experiencing pain or are seeking to improve their mobility or posture.

Clients often choose to continue on with regular chiropractic appointments to maintain their new level of function and performance.

Some of the reasons people see a Chiropractor

  • back pain

  • neck pain

  • headaches / migraines

  • sciatica

  • whiplash

  • muscle strains

  • ligament sprains

  • sporting injuries

When you come to the team at OneBody Allied Health for Chiropractic care a thorough examination and assessment will be done.

If we are able to assist, a tailored treatment plan will be designed for you.

Treatment may consist of massage or muscle release techniques, stretches, and joint mobilisations or adjustments if needed.

We also address certain lifestyle factors, along with providing self-management strategies and exercises that can be done from home.

FAQs

Do I need a referral to see a Chiropractor?

No. Anyone can see a Chiropractor without a referral but you won’t be eligible for the Medicare rebate.

How long are your appointments?

The first appointment is approx. 50 minutes this allows time for the Chiropractor to take a thorough medical history to understand your health needs and goals. A treatment is also provided as a part of your first visit. If you need any follow up appointments will be 30 minutes.

Do you treat all clients in the same way?

No. Each treatment is tailored to your needs and health goals. After a diagnosis is made treatment options are then discussed with you. Before any treatment occurs, you will be required to provide consent.

What should I wear and bring with me?

Wear normal clothes, gym wear or loose clothing if possible. We always maintain modesty with towels. Bring any documents, i.e. X-ray, MRI scan, ultrasound or other medical documentation as needed. If you are unsure, please give us a call in advance of your appointment and we can help you.

Are Chiropractic services covered by Medicare?

Yes, Chiropractic services are subsidised under the chronic disease management plan / enhanced primary care plan via GP referral. You will need to speak your local General Practitioner to discuss your eligibility. We will need to receive the referral on your first visit to receive the rebate.

Is Chiropractic Services covered by private health insurance?

The clinic offers HICAPS facilities for clients with private health cover. You will need to check with your health insurance as it depends on your level of cover and there may be waiting periods.
